Yolanda Alfaro Jalomo

Yolanda Jalomo, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend was called to be with The Lord on August 1, 2024, in Ballinger, Texas at the age of 72.

She was born on December 8, 1951, in Ballinger, Texas to Galo and Eduvijes (Hernandez) Alfaro. She married Rumaldo Jalomo Sr., on February 25, 1969, in Ballinger, Texas. Together they shared 55 years and created many enduring memories before her passing. Yolanda enjoyed a fulfilling life, dedicating her faith, time, and love to her family.

Yolanda was a dedicated employee at Ballinger Memorial Hospital in the Dietary Department for over 20 years before she retired. She was very proud of her job and made many lasting friendships throughout the years. Yolanda was also very active in donating her time and creativity to nursing home residents. She thoroughly enjoyed crafting, sewing, and baking. Yolanda also had a very unique sense of humor and everyone who knew her was lucky to have shared in her laughter. Her wit was unwavering and she always had the ability to find humor, even in times of great adversity. She had an adventurous spirit and loved camping and spending time at the beach.

Yolanda leaves behind a legacy of faith, love, kindness, and resilience that will forever be cherished by those who knew her. She was a faithful member of the Guadalupanas at St. Mary Star of The Sea Catholic Church in Ballinger. She enjoyed many years as a second grade CCD teacher and was dedicated to instilling her faith in her students as she prepared them for the gift of First Communion. She was a fierce protector and supporter of her family and had unwavering faith in the power of prayer.

Yolanda is survived by her loving husband, Rumaldo Jalomo, Sr.; her children - Vickie Narro and husband Adolfo Jr., Rumaldo Jalomo Jr. and wife Norma, Sally Rodriguez, and Sara Reyes; her grandchildren - Victoria Luna, Michael Luna, Adolph Narro III and wife Patience, Jeffrey Jalomo, Lauren Jalomo, Ana Rodriguez and fiancé Jose Posada Jr., Andrew Cavazos, Tori Williams, Mya Carrasco; and great-grandchildren - Gabriella Cavazos, Matthew Baucom, Atreus Narro, and Isabella Hurt; her brothers - Richard Alfaro, David Alfaro, and Martin Gomez and wife Eva. Yolanda is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

Yolanda was preceded in death by her father, Galo Alfaro; her mother, Eduvijes Alfaro; her sisters - Maria Ornelas, Luisa Herrera, Angelita Jalomo, and Rosita Alfaro; her brothers - Estevan DelaCerda, Tano DelaCerda, Eustacio DelaCerda, and Juan DelaCerda.

A rosary will be held for Yolanda on Sunday, August 4, 2024, at 6:00 pm at the chapel at Lange Funeral Home in Ballinger, Texas. Her Mass of Christian Burial will follow on Monday, August 5, 2024, at 10:00 am at St. Mary Star of the Sea Catholic Church with Father Hilary celebrating. Interment will follow at the Garden of Memories Cemetery also in Ballinger.

Yolanda will forever be remembered for her unwavering faith, love, and dedication to her family. May she rest in peace, and may her memory continue to inspire all those who were fortunate enough to have known her.
