Shirley Loessin Pieper, 83, formerly of Corpus Christi, passed away Friday, November 2, 2018 in Pasadena.
She was born July 25, 1935 to Louis and Merty (O’Neal) Loessin in Corpus Christi, Texas. After high school, she married Richard Pieper on December 12, 1953 in Robstown, Texas. They shared 64 years loving years together. Shirley was actively involved in the WMU, mission work, church work, BSU, and the Red Hat Society. She was a speaker at prayer retreats and involved with church camp activities. Shirley was a member of the PTA, several mission organizations, and scholarship committees. She and her family opened their home as a host family for international students. Shirley will be remembered as an excellent wife and mother.
Shirley is preceded in death by son, Paul A. Pieper; and her parents.
She is survived by her husband, Richard; her daughters, Sabrina Pieper Pizzo and husband, Tanny and Rowena Pieper Wedgman and husband, Cliff; grandchildren, Matthew Pizzo and wife, Elsie, Sara Pizzo, Gina Pizzo Haynie and husband, Dustin, Samuel Pizzo and wife, McCall, Travis Wedgman and wife, Morgan, Rachael Wedgman Willis and husband, Kalynn, and Abbey Wedgman Pickel and husband, Michael; great-grandchildren, Ella Rose Haynie, Meridith Wedgman, Madilyn Wedgman, Kendall Wedgman, and Claire Wedgman; sister, Kathy Loessin Baca; nephew, David Baca; and niece, Regina Baca.
Services will be held at 10:30 am on Saturday, November 17 at Lange Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow at the Protestant Cemetery in Rowena.
