Ryan (Budda) David Jansa, 48, of Rowena, Texas, peacefully passed away surrounded by his loved ones on Thursday, March 5, 2026.
He was born on April 18, 1977, to David and Beverly (Halfmann) Jansa in San Angelo,Texas. Ryan had a passion for the life of a farmer and rancher since he was a little boy. He loved being on the farm and prided himself in his craft. Ryan loved fiercely, and was a generous, straightforward man. His family was everything to him and had cultivated deep lasting relationships with his close friends who he considered brothers and family. Ryan could always be found with his loyal protector dog, Poncho. He was also a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and a member of the Knights of Columbus.
He is preceded in death by his grandparents, William and Irene Jansa, and Ross and Frieda Halfmann, as well as his aunt Teresa Jansa.
Ryan is survived by his parents David and Beverly Jansa, his sisters Kimberly Garcia (Francisco) and Kayla Arredondo (John). He will also be greatly missed by his special little niece Charlotte. He will be remembered as a fun jokester, aggravator, and loved to get a laugh out of people.
A rosary for Ryan will be held on Tuesday, March 10, 2026, at 9:30 am at St. JosephCatholic Church in Rowena, Texas. His Mass of Christian Burial will follow immediately after at 10:00 am with Father Ariel Lagunilla celebrating. Interment will follow at St.Joseph Catholic Cemetery also in Rowena, Tx.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the American Cancer Association in Ryan’s name.
The family wishes to thank all of his doctors and staff at Methodist Stone Oak hospital in San Antonio for their relentless efforts and expertise and those who have volunteered to help along the way so that he could continue seeking treatment.
