Ballinger, Texas

Rosalinda Diaz, 71, of Ballinger, Texas, passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 30, 2025, surrounded by her loving family.

She was born in Ballinger on July 27, 1954, to Abelino and Emilia Escobar Prendez. Rosalinda was the rock of her family—anytime someone needed her, she was there with open arms, love, and encouragement. She had a beautiful smile and an unforgettable laugh. She loved music, dancing, and most of all, cherished time spent with her grandchildren.

Rosalinda is survived by her children: Melissa Diaz; Jimmy Paul Prendez and his wife Crystal, along with their children Tina and Brandon; and Fabian Jimenez. She is also survived by her sisters Hopie Stark and Diane Cortez, her brothers Jerry Prendez and his wife Helen, Jimmy Prendez and his wife Mary, and Benny Prendez; and daughter-in-law, Jessica Tamez.

Her greatest joy came from being a grandmother. She is lovingly remembered by her grandchildren: Megan Ochoa and her husband Bert, and their children Santana and Mackenzie; Anthony Diaz and wife Kristin; and their children Haden and Bailey; Marissa and husband Anthony; Junior Diaz and his children Anthony and Treyvon; grandchildren, Jordan Tamez, Daniel Diaz, Antonio Diaz III, Gabriel Diaz, Cristina Tamez, Stormy Diaz, Jaylissa Diaz, and Monica Trevino.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Abelino and Emilia Prendez and her loving son Antonio Diaz, Jr.

The family would like to give special thanks to Rosalinda’s grandson, Junior, who gave so much of his time to ensure she made it to every doctor’s appointment and always had her hair and nails done. His love and care played a big part in her life.

A rosary will be recited for Rosalinda on Friday, September 5, 2025, at 6:00 p.m. in the chapel at Lange Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, September 6, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. at The Jesus Christ Church in Ballinger, Texas, with burial to follow at the Latin American Cemetery.

In keeping with one of Rosa’s final wishes, the family asks that everyone wear pink or purple to her services, honoring her love of bright colors and the light she brought into the lives of those around her.

Rosa’s legacy of love, strength, and laughter will continue to live on through her children, grandchildren, and all who were blessed to know her.
