Robert Daniel Fisher, 90, of Ballinger, Texas passed away on June 18, 2026.
He was born on August 2, 1935, in San Angelo, Texas, to Arthur Emil Fisher and Helen Marie (Dornhoefer) Fisher. He was raised in Lowake and attended Rowena and Paint Rock schools, graduating from Paint Rock High School in 1953.
Robert was a hardworking and devoted family man who enjoyed a life centered around his family and community. He loved the land and farming, had a special affection for animals, and enjoyed treasure hunting. Ballinger had been his home since 1976, where he became a valued member of the community. Robert loved to talk to anybody he could find so you had to be careful not to get caught for too long.
Robert married Jettie Paula Tubbs in San Angelo, Texas, in 1957. Later he married Geraldine “Deanie” Lamb on December 22, 1969, in San Antonio, Texas.
Throughout his career, Robert worked as manager for Thom McCan Shoe Store for more than 20 years in San Angelo, San Antonio, Houston, and Austin as well as Kansas and Oklahoma. He later worked for Mueller’s for 9 years and Higginbotham’s for about 20 years, earning the respect of coworkers and customers alike through his dedication and strong work ethic. He excelled as a salesman because of his love of talking to people. He later retired to care for his wife.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Arthur Emil Fisher and Helen Marie Dornhoefer Fisher; his daughter, Linda Kay Marino; his sister, Mary Ann Jones and her husband, Terry Jones; his brother, Donald Fisher; and his wife Deanie.
Robert is survived by his son, Daniel Fisher and wife Debbie; his daughters, Cynthia Ann Hall, Donna Gay Fisher and husband Frank, and Denise Richards and husband Ron; sister in-law Trish Fisher. He is also survived by 10 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren, and 4 great-great-grandchildren, along with numerous extended family members and friends who will cherish his memory.
A funeral service will be held on Monday, June 22, 2026, in the chapel at Lange Funeral home at 10 AM with interment to follow at Rowena Protestant Cemetery.
The Family requests that memorial donations be made to Hospice care at West Texas Rehabilitation Center in Robert’s memory.
