Richard Walter Paul Boberg, Jr.

Richard Walter Paul Boberg, Jr., 74, passed away at his home in Millersview, Texas with his loving wife by his side, on Thursday, December 15, 2022.

Richard was born in Albuquerque, New Mexico, on September 24, 1948, to Richard Walter Paul Boberg, Sr., and Jean Stuart (Howell) Boberg.  He served in the United States Air Force for 20 years as an Administrative Technician, retiring in 1988.  He married Linda Ruth Hedrick in Las Vegas, Nevada, on September 10, 1994.

Richard was a devoted Christian, avid fisherman, and arrowhead collector.  He was a faithful member of the Millersview Baptist Church. He was involved with church activities including frying fish for baptisms and Samaritan’s Purse Christmas Boxes.

Richard is preceded in death by his parents, Richard Boberg, Sr., and Jean MacLeod.

He is survived by his daughters Jennifer Kent, Amy Smith and her husband Hubble, and Chris Tullous; grandsons Justin Smith and his wife Kendyl and Hunter Smith; and granddaughter Emma Kent.  He is also survived by his brother Douglas Boberg and his wife Cheryl; sister Kristin Susalski; his brother John MacLeod; and numerous nephews and nieces

A Graveside Memorial will be held on December 28, 2022, at Concho Cemetery, at 2:00 pm with Don Sessom officiating.  There will be a luncheon preceding his service at Lake Ivie Volunteer Fire Department from 12:00 to 1:30 pm.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital, Ronald McDonald Children’s Hospital, or a favorite charity, in honor of Richard.
