Rebecca "Rebbie" Dawn Lange

December 5, 1957 — December 26, 2023

Rebecca “Rebbie” Lange, 66, of Ballinger, Texas passed away peacefully surrounded by loved ones at her home on Tuesday, December 26, 2023.

She was born on December 5, 1957, to Jimmie Gaines and Norma Gail (Kirk) Brown, in San Angelo, Texas.   Rebbie graduated from Cooper High School in Abilene, Texas.  On August 4, 1979 she married Larry Lange at a ceremony at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Rowena, Texas. Together they shared 44 years, and had two children, Tori and Ryan. She held several jobs locally before going to work for Ballinger National Bank where she retired after 15 years when they purchased the funeral home.  Rebbie had a contagious smile, and when she laughed her whole face lit up.  She adored her grandchildren and spent time making sure they knew that they were loved.  From Pepsi picnics to crafting adventures, she invested a lot of her time into finding fun ways to make them smile. She also enjoyed quilting and cross-stitch which was a passion that she made sure to share with her granddaughters. Rebbie loved fishing, especially when she caught something.  In her younger years she played softball and volleyball, she also especially enjoyed golfing with the gang and battling with a one-armed bandit.  She had a kind and thoughtful heart for taking care of others, and also made sure to let her family know when inclement weather was coming.  If there was a weather alert, she was always the first to text you.  Rebbie fought a long hard battle against cancer and beat all odds, giving her more time to make memories with her family.  Above all she loved Jesus and was at peace when she went to her heavenly home.

Rebbie is preceded in death by her parents Jimmie and Norma Gail Brown and her brother James Michael Brown.

She is survived by her husband Larry Lange, her daughter Tori Regas and husband, Jason, of Dallas, and her son Ryan Lange and wife, Gillian, of Ballinger.  Rebbie will also be greatly missed by her grandchildren, Kira, Cutter, Holland, Lilly, Emory, Heidi, Hannah, Sam, Adeline, Weston, and Andrew, as well as her brother Kirk Brown.

A rosary for Rebbie will be said on Friday, December 29, 2023, at 6:00 pm at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Rowena, Texas. Her Mass of Christian Burial will follow on Saturday, December 30, 2023 at 10:00 am also at St. Joseph Catholic Church with Father Ariel Lagunilla celebrating.  Interment will follow at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery.

The family wishes to thank the staff at Ballinger Home Health and Hospice for their incredible loving care for Reb and Larry both.  Especially Liz Palmer and Christina Strube.  They also wish to thank everyone for their love, prayers, and support over the last few difficult years.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to The Carnegie Library in Rebbie’s memory.  As an avid reader and lover of the library, this would be a huge honor for her and those that love her.
