Raymond Dennis, 67, of Coleman, Texas, went home to be with his Lord and Savior onSaturday, October 24, 2026.
If there was one thing you could count on with Raymond, it was that he was going to tell you about Jesus. He never met a stranger he couldn't strike up a conversation with, and more often than not, that conversation would eventually turn to God, Heaven, or the Rapture. Raymond didn't just believe in his faith; he lived it, shared it, and wanted everyone around him to experience the same love and hope he had found in Christ. Through his ministry and the countless conversations he had along the way, Raymond touched more lives than he probably ever realized.
On December 24, 1999, Raymond married Lee Ann Speckles in Ballinger, Texas. Throughout his life, he worked as a truck driver, those miles gave him plenty of opportunities to meet new people, share a story, and, of course, spread the Good News. To Raymond, there was no such thing as a bad time to talk about the Lord, and if you had a few minutes to spare, he was more than happy to tell you all about Him.
When Raymond wasn't working or sharing his faith, he loved spending time outdoors. Camping was one of his favorite pastimes, and he had a special appreciation for the beauty of God's creation. But there was one place that held his heart a little more than anywhere else: the coast of Maine. Something about the ocean air and the peaceful beauty of the coast made it his happy place.
As much as Raymond loved the open road, the great outdoors, and the coast of Maine, nothing compared to the love he had for his family. He loved his children and grandchildren with his whole heart. Whether he was sharing stories, offering advice, talking about his faith, or simply spending time together, Raymond wanted those he loved to know just how much they meant to him.
Raymond spent much of his life looking forward to the day he would meet Jesus. He talked about the Rapture with excitement that was hard to miss, and he wanted to make sure everyone he loved would be there with him when that day came.
Raymond is survived by his father, Albert Dennis; his wife of 26 years, Lee Ann, and daughters, Monica Howlett and husband Sidney, and Naomi Dennis Thompson and husband Michael; his son, Matthew Allen Dennis Offill and wife Chesnei; his stepson, Eric Offill; his sisters, Cheryl (Gutherie) Sprague and Pamela Dennis. He is also survived by his beloved grandchildren, Haley Agan, Ava Agan, Griffin Agan, Maggie Thompson, Riley Thompson, Logan Thompson, Savanna Offill, Grayson Fisher, Vangie Fisher, and Michael Wright; and numerous friends and family.
He was preceded in death by his loving mother, Shirley Mae Dennis.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to Samaritan's Purse in Raymond's memory.
