Petra Rodriguez Sauceda

Petra Rodriguez Sauceda, 79, of Ballinger, Texas, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loving family, on Saturday, September 27, 2025. She was born on January 18, 1946, in Ballinger, Texas, to Rocendo and Luisa Sauceda, and was a lifelong resident of Ballinger.

Petra dedicated her life to caring for others. She was a devoted caretaker and always put the needs of those around her before her own. One of her greatest honors in life was caring for her father until his passing. Her greatest joy was her family, whom she loved more than anything.

Affectionately known as “Betty Lu” to her many nieces and nephews, Petra loved them as if they were her own children. She had a wonderful sense of humor and found joy in making others laugh, leaving behind countless cherished memories filled with love and laughter.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Rocendo and Luisa Sauceda, as well as her brothers, Domingo Sauceda and Adolfo Sauceda.

She is survived by her brothers, Gregorio Sauceda and his wife Erlinda F. Sauceda of Denton, Texas and Severiano Sauceda and his wife, Corina, of Ballinger, Texas and numerous nieces and nephews.

The family wishes to thank and share their appreciation for the staff at Ballinger Home Health, Meals on Wheels, Girling Agency and others who provided friendship, care, and support to Petra.

A private family service will be held at a later date.
