Pauline Frances Halfmann

February 21, 1930 — January 23, 2026

Rowena, Texas

Pauline Frances Halfmann, a cherished member of the Rowena community, completed her earthly journey at the age of 95, passing away peacefully on Friday, January 23, 2026, in the comfort of her home and surrounded by her loving family.

Born on February 21, 1930, to John Joseph and Mary Ann (Majzlik) Urbanek in Rowena, Texas. Pauline’s early life in Rowena was one of joyful imagination. As a child, she could often be found outdoors with her dolls and a little wagon, meticulously building tiny rooms from matchsticks and rocks, or crafting perfect mud pies and mud cakes. She graduated from St. Joseph’s School (Rowena) in 1944. On June 14, 1949, she married her soulmate, Quintin B. Halfmann, in their home parish, St. Joseph Catholic Church. She worked for the St Joseph's School and the First National Bank of Rowena where she retired after 28 years.

Pauline used her creative talent to make cherished baby blankets and quilts and to craft special items of clothing for her family. While she delighted in slowing down with a challenging puzzle or tending her flowers, the greatest joy and purpose in her life was her family. She was a true homemaker in every beautiful sense of the word—a loving daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and friend whose unwavering devotion and inspiring example will continue to guide and bless the generations that follow.

Pauline is preceded in death by her parents John and Mary Ann, her In-Laws Ben and Sarah Halfmann, her sisters, brothers and spouses Evelyn/Charlie Matschek and Della/Eddie Halfmann, Bill/Elizabeth Urbanek, Ray/Polly Urbanek, and Adolph/Arlene Urbanek. She is also preceded by her brother in laws, Stephen Halfmann, Arnold Frerich, Vernon Hoelscher, Bernie Michaelwicz, and Jerome Lange

She is survived by her husband of 76 years, Quintin Halfmann, her children and grandchildren; Brenda/Dalton Greenwood (Ryan, Laura, Amanda, William), Diane/Mike McNeill(Valarie, Sheila, Beth, Jill), Roger/Becky Halfmann (Nick, Brandon, Clint), Greg/Janna Halfmann (Morgan, Kyle, Layne), Paula McMillan (Magen, Camren), and Carl/Shelley Halfmann (Dawson, Bailey, Dayton) and her 23 great-grandchildren. Her brother and sister in laws Evelyn Lange, Beatrice Michaelwicz, Alice Frerich, Cornell Hoelscher, Bernie/Kay Halfmann, Clyde/Mary Halfmann, James/Lorene Halfmann and Sherry Halfmann.
