Ballinger, Texas

Norma Jean Collier Bryan, 89, of Ballinger, passed away on August 9, 2025, at Ballinger Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center following a stroke. She was born on May 1, 1936, in Mitchell County, Texas, to John “Bud” and Eula Arpe Collier. Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 16th at Lange Funeral Home in Ballinger. In accordance with Norma’s wishes, a private family graveside service will be held at Loraine Cemetery.

She graduated from Hermleigh High School and later worked with Ballinger Home Health for 18 years. After her retirement, she continued caring for others as a private sitter—something that was truly her passion.

Norma was preceded in death by her parents and three brothers: Lamoin Collier, Chester Collier, and Bethel Collier.

She is survived by her daughter, Lucretia Arrott, and husband Tim of Bronte, and her son, Greg Bryan, and wife Sandra of San Angelo. Her greatest joy in life was her family, especially her grandchildren, who lovingly called her “Nana.”

She is also survived by her grandchildren: Brian Arrott and wife Kandace of Lubbock, Texas; Dusty Arrott and wife Mandy of Dublin, Texas; Chris Bryan of Santo, Texas; and Jeremy Zapata and wife Selena of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma.

Her great-grandchildren include McKenzie Arrott Hall and husband Preston of Chandler, Arizona; Carter Arrott of Lubbock; Parks and Jetti Arrott of Dublin, Texas; and Max, Mia, and Marc Zapata of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma. She was also blessed with one great-great-grandchild, Hutch Hall of Chandler, Arizona.

She is survived by sisters-in-law Beverly Collier and Charlotte Collier, as well as dear friends Norma Hagan, Wanda Booe, Carolyn Harris, Betty Brown, and Phoebe Crosby.

The family extends their heartfelt thanks to Dr. Grimes and the staff at Ballinger Memorial Hospital and Ballinger Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center for their care and compassion.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Norma’s name to Ballinger Cares (P.O. Box 802, Ballinger, TX 76821) or a charity of your choice.
