Mildred Laverne Englert Gully of Olfen, Texas passed away peacefully on Monday, May 18, 2026.
She was born on November 16, 1932 to Willie and Evelyn Hodnett Englert in Ballinger, Texas. She attended Olfen School until 10th grade and graduated from Ballinger High School in 1951.
On July 7, 1951, she married Hilary H. Gully at St. Boniface Catholic Church in Olfen. They shared 56 years together and were blessed with 6 children.
She was a faithful member of St. Boniface, where she was a member of the Christian Mothers Sodality. For many years she served as a volunteer delivering Meals On Wheels.
She was preceded in death by her parents Willie and Evelyn, her sister Jean and husband Dave Tiller, her brothers Jimmy Englert and Leon Englert, sister in law Gladys Englert, brother in law Bill Finto and great-grandson Cole Harrell.
She is survived by her children Linda (Harvey) Schwertner, Donna (Ralph) Willberg, Rick (Dana) Gully, Danny Gully, Nancy (Lee) Evans and Michael Gully. Grandchildren Paul (Kim) Schwertner, Kelly (Todd) Harrell, Jodi (Todd) Helms, Lea (Tuan) Do, Grant (Kylie) Schwertner, Lori (Patrick) Gildart, Kim (Russel) Halfmann, Kristy (Allan) Fuchs, Kelsey (Jess) Yeaman, Andrea (Bryan) Hallmark, Matt Gully, Jamie (Sam) Molai, Stacy (Jessi) McWright, and Becky (Heath) Wyatt. She is also survived by 32 great-grandchildren, her sister Bernice Finto, her brother Ervin Englert, and her sisters in law Ava Havlik and Carolyn Englert and many nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers are grandsons, Paul Schwertner, Stacy McWright, Matthew Gully and Grant Schwertner.
A rosary will be held on Monday, May 25, 2026, at 6:00 pm at Lange Funeral Home in Ballinger, Texas. Her Mass of Christian Burial will be held the following day on Tuesday, May 26, 2026 at 11:00 am at St. Boniface Catholic Church in Olfen, Texas, with Father Ariel Lagunilla celebrating.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Pregnancy Help Center of Concho Valley.
The family would like to thank the wonderful caregivers of Hospice of Ballinger, Dr. Karen Rightmire, and Dr. Bradly Bundrant for providing years of dedicated, compassionate healthcare. Also we are so grateful for the constant devoted caregiving of Kay Scott. Kay's years of excellent and passionate care were indispensable in providing comfort and healing through Mom's last days.
