Mary Ignacia P. Lopez, 81, of Ballinger, Texas, passed away peacefully on April 28, 2025, surrounded by her loving family.
Mary was born on August 3, 1943, in Olfen, Texas, to Victor and Ignacia (Briones) Patino. A woman of deep faith and strong values, Mary was a devoted and faithful member of St. Mary Star of the Sea Catholic Church in Ballinger. Her life was a beautiful example of love, service, and family devotion.
Mary was known for her incredible cooking, her passion for sewing, and the joy she found in spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She loved shopping trips with her sister Felicitas and cherished her trips to Houston with her daughter. For many years, Mary served as a caregiver, always giving selflessly and compassionately to others.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her brothers, Henry Patino, Gerhardo "Harry" Patino Sr., Refugio Patino, and Victor Patino Jr.; her sister, Virginia Patino Galvan; and her son-in-law, Oscar Zertuche Jr.
Mary is survived by her loving husband Robert and her children: Arthur Alvarado (Vanessa) of Ballinger, Annette Zertuche of Magnolia, Texas, Gilbert Lopez of Spring, Texas, Mario Lopez (Kari) of Cypress, Texas, and Jeremy Lopez (Judy) of San Angelo, Texas. She is also survived by her sister, Felicitas Bautista, 12 beloved grandchildren: Diego, Santana, Nancy, Rachel, Victoria, McKenzie, Logan, Nevaeh, J.R., Mia, Kade, and Kian, as well as her 4 cherished great-grandchildren: Mateo, Samuel, Beaux, and Delilah, all of whom brought immense pride and joy to her life.
A rosary will be held for Mary on Thursday, May 1, 2025, at 6:00 pm at the chapel at Lange Funeral Home in Ballinger. Her Mass of Christian Burial will follow on Friday, May 2, 2025, at 10:00 am at St. Mary Star of the Sea Catholic Church in Ballinger, Texas, with Father Hilary Ihedoha celebrating. Interment will follow at the Latin American Cemetery also in Ballinger, Texas.
Pallbearers are Kade Lopez, J.R. Lopez, Logan Lopez, Diego Alvarado, Jeremy Owens and Kian Lopez
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions be made to a charity of your choice in Mary’s honor.
Mary's kindness, strength, and warmth will be deeply missed but forever remembered by those who had the privilege to know and love her.
