Frances Lisso, loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and friend passed away Wednesday March 11, 2026, in New Braunfels, Texas.

Mary Frances Halfmann was born April 23, 1938, in San Angelo to Lawrence August and Cecilia Fuchs Halfmann. After graduating from St. Joseph High School in Rowena, she went on to work for various local business as a bookkeeper, including Bob Loyd L P Gas in Ballinger and Winters, Mueller Supply and Higginbotham Brothers.

Frances married the love of her life, Erwin (Bud) Lisso on July 14, 1960, in Olfen, Texas. They shared 44 wonderful years of life together. After their marriage, Frances and Bud lived on the farm before moving to Ballinger in 1963. They lived in Ballinger and Winters before moving back to Ballinger and eventually back to farm life in 1999. They raised goats together before Bud’s death in 2004. Frances stayed on the farm, raising haired sheep with the help of her sister Judy and brother-in-law Fred until 2022. At that time, she moved to New Braunfels with Betty and her husband, Clark. Even with the long drive, Mom looked forward to her month-long visits with Susan and her husband Jerry in Wolfforth. She took delight in having goats to watch and enjoy at their place.

Mom was a devout Catholic and member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Rowena. She was proudly a member of St. Ann’s Altar Society and the Catholic Daughters. She was a Eucharistic Minister for many years at St. Joseph’s and sang in the choir there.

Frances was preceded in death by her husband, Bud, her parents, Lawrence and Cecilia Halfmann, her sister Anna Rose (Alvin) Kuss, her brother Lawrence (Carolyn)Halfmann, her in-laws Arthur and Julie Lisso, and sister-in-law Evelyn Richardson.

Frances is survived by her daughters Susan (Jerry) Harney and Betty (Clark) Johnson, as well as her sister Judy Jansa and brother in law, Fred Jansa. She is also survived by her grandsons Wesley (Melanie) Johnson, Gregory (Deborah) Johnson, John (Nikki) Harney and Matt Harney. Also surviving are her “4 girls” (great-granddaughters) Kynleigh, Mica, Addyson and Logan, as well as her soon-to-be great grandson. In addition, she is survived by several nieces and nephews and their families.

The family would like to thank Father Ariel, as well as all of her friends and fellow parishioners at St. Joseph for their prayers, phone calls, and cards.
