Mae Dell Watkins

Mae Dell Watkins passed away on August 1, 2024, surrounded by the love of her family. She was born May 22, 1933, in Ballinger, Texas to parents Harry & Irvie Lee (Wiley) Paschal. Mae Dell grew up with six siblings, four brothers and two sisters.

She married her husband, Hiram Calvin Watkins on June 1, 1951 and they spent 60 years together. This marriage blessed her with seven children, Gayle Nousianen (Jim), Diane White (Ricky), Mickey Apodaca (Gary), Randy Watkins (Kim), Gloria Applegate (Bill), Paul Watkins (Jackie), and Teresa Watkins Burke. Her children also blessed her with 19 grandchildren, 30 great grandchildren, and 3 great great grandchildren to continue her legacy of love.

Mae Dell was a true Southern Belle with a warm smile, a genuine loving spirit, and a welcoming home to feed everyone she had the chance to. She was a kind, caring mother who will be missed by all who were blessed to meet her.

She is preceded in death by her husband Hiram Calvin Watkins, daughter Mickey Jean Apodaca, parents Harry & Irvie Lee Paschal, her brothers Dennis, William, Elvis & Wayne Paschal, and her sisters Lidell & Wanda Paschal.

A visitation will be held on Saturday, August 10, 2024, from 10:30 am to 11:30 am at the chapel at Lange Funeral Home in Ballinger, Texas, a funeral service will follow at 12:00 pm with Jordan Burrell officiating. Interment will follow at the Old Runnels Cemetery also in Ballinger. The family wishes to invite everyone back for a reception at the Seventh Street Baptist Church following the interment.
