Lois Jean McCreery

Lois Jean McCreery, 85, of Lake Ivie, Texas, passed away peacefully on September 16, 2026.

She was born on July 1, 1941, in King City, Missouri, to Robert Ray and Ruby Mae Day.

Lois lived a life filled with adventure, in her early years, she called Missouri home, where she grew up surrounded by family and the memories that would remain with her throughout her life.

Lois was a dedicated first responder with the Volunteer Fire Department in Otero County, New Mexico. Her professional life also took her far from home. She traveled extensively for work, helping with the installation of medical computer systems in hospitals and government facilities. Her career allowed her to see much of the country and experience places and people beyond her own hometown.

One of Lois's greatest interests was genealogy. She enjoyed studying her family history and learning about the people and stories that came before her. She understood the importance of where we come from and took great joy in discovering the connections that tied generations together.

Lois was also a devoted fan of the Kansas City Chiefs. When the Chiefs were playing, the world stopped. Whether cheering from home or simply keeping track of her beloved team, her loyalty was unwavering.

Lois was preceded in death by her loving parents, Robert Ray and Ruby Mae Day; and her brothers, Robert Lee Day and Donnie Dean Day.

Above all else, Lois cherished her family. She leaves behind her loving husband, Jack Ray McCreery; her son, Terry McCreery and wife Tammy; her daughter, Jennifer Munn and husband Tim; her grandson, Jack Cody McCreery; and her brother, John Elwin Day and wife Mary. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

A memorial service honoring Lois's life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, September 25, 2026, in the chapel at Lange Funeral Home.
