Leslie H. Cole, Sr., 88, of San Angelo, Texas, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, November 5, 2025. He was born on May 6, 1937, in Sterling City, Texas, to Ernest Sylvester Cole and Agnes Melva Purvis.
Leslie married Helen Louise Wood, on December 3, 1977, in Ozona, Texas and together they built a beautiful life filled with love, laughter, and family. Leslie was Helen’s “sweetie” on most days but there were those days she would call him “Cole”. Those were the days he was being just that! A Cole! IYKYK
Leslie was a devoted husband, a wonderful father, and a caring grandfather and great-grandfather. He will be remembered for his contagious smile, quick wit, quirky sense of humor, his famous “dad jokes” that always brought smiles to those around him and riding a bike backwards!
He was a man of many talents and interests — he loved golf, woodwork, and took great pride in keeping his lawn perfectly mowed. Leslie’s intelligence, humor, and love for life touched everyone who knew him. Above all, he cherished his family deeply.
He is preceded in death by his loving parents, Ernest and Agnes Cole, his beloved daughter, Shona Galindo; and seven siblings.
Leslie is survived by his son, Leslie Cole Jr., his daughters Lana Cole (Benita), Susie Deeds, Sherry Juarez (Benny), Laura Buxkemper and son Jack and Tracy Cole, grandson Ethan and his wife Holly, and great-grandsons Noah, Maverick, and Grayson as well as his cherished grandchildren, Terra Lynn, Cristalle Olson, Tiffany Rivera (Josh), Tristan Berrones (Steven), Nathan Coy (Hadie), Arah Ayers (Jonathan), Melissa Russo (Jason), Chayse Galindo, Eryn Galindo, and Mattie Juarez. Along with 34 great grandchildren, and 17 great great grandchildren!
A funeral service will be held on Monday, November 10, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. at Lange Funeral Home in Ballinger, Texas, with burial to follow at Grape Creek Cemetery.
The family wishes to extend their heartfelt thanks to the Doctors and Nurses of Shannon and Hendricks for their kindness and care.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the charity or organization of their choice in Leslie’s memory.
Leslie’s life was one filled with love, laughter, and a deep devotion to those he held dear. He will be greatly missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew him.
