Leland Scott, Jr.

Leland Scott (JR), 74, passed away at his home Friday, November 29th, 2019.

JR was born to Leland and Mary Scott in Richmond, KY on March 31, 1945.

JR has worked at an ice cream plant, driven 18 wheelers across this country and for the last 15 years has been a dedicated rural mail carrier for the US Postal Service.

JR loved to fish, play golf and give his friends and loved ones a hard time. He was contrary just for argument's sake. He was ornery, generous, helpful, neighborly, funny and cared more about others than himself.

He was preceded in death by his father, uncle and wife Renda J Scott.

JR is survived by his step-son Cory Owens (Rebecca), step-daughter Crystal Martin (Cody); grandchildren Logan Owens, Bailey Owens, Caleb Martin and Cameron Martin, all of Artesia NM; sister-in-law Brenda Ratliff (Doug) of Maljamar NM; mother Mary and brother Ronnie of Richmond, Kentucky.

Memorial services will be held in Millersview, TX at the Baptist Church at 3:00 pm on December 7, 2019.
