Kathryn Anne Garcia

Oct 2, 1951 — Sep 29, 2026

Ballinger, Texas

Kathryn Anne Garcia, 74, of Ballinger, Texas, passed away peacefully on September 29, 2026, surrounded by her loving family.

Kathryn was born on October 2, 1951, in San Angelo, Texas, to Jesus and Hortense Garcia. She was known as “KK” by those who loved her most. Kathryn had a wonderful sense of humor. Though she lived with cerebral palsy, she never allowed it to affect her beautiful outlook on life.

She loved Elvis Presley, and when his music came on, she would dance right along in her wheelchair. She was also a fan of Walker Texas Ranger and enjoyed spending time looking through magazines. Kathryn had her own special way of reading the magazines, once she finished with a page, she would tear it out and toss it right onto the floor before moving on to the next one.

Kathryn loved a good hamburger. If you asked Kathryn how many hamburgers she wanted, there was never any hesitation in her answer, two.

If you knew Kathryn, you also knew she could be possessive of the people she loved. If you dared to tell her that one of her favorite people was “yours,” you had better be prepared, boy would she get upset, and she was perfectly capable of holding a grudge!

Kathryn was preceded in death by her loving parents, Jesus and Hortense Garcia.

She is survived by her aunt, Linda Guevara; Uncle Freddie Alvarez; niece, Melissa, who she lovingly called “Sissy”; as well as numerous cousins and extended family members and friends.

A Rosary will be held for Kathryn on Friday, October 2, 2026, at 7:00 p.m. in the chapel at Lange Funeral Home in Ballinger, Texas. Her Mass of Christian Burial will follow on Saturday, October 3, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at St. Mary’s Star of the Sea Catholic Church in Ballinger, Texas. Interment will follow at the Latin American Cemetery.

The family wishes to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the nurses and staff at Shannon Medical Center and Hospice of San Angelo for the kindness, compassion, and exceptional care shown to Kathryn during her final days. They would also like to express a special thank you to Albert Alvarez and the many family members who faithfully remained by Kathryn’s side, surrounding her with love, comfort, and support.
