Jimmie Twain Stubblefield, 86, of Ballinger, Texas, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, March 3, 2026.
Jimmie was born on September 4, 1939, in Ballinger, Texas, to Henry Ellis Stubblefield and Gladys Stubblefield (Keating). A lifelong Texan, he carried with him the values of hard work, integrity, and quiet strength that defined his life and career.
On September 2, 1961, he married the love of his life, Linda Condra, at the Methodist Church in Talpa, Texas. Their marriage was a lasting testament to devotion, partnership, and unwavering love.
Jimmie was a proud member of the Lions Club and a dedicated educator who believed firmly that academics always came before athletics. He earned a master’s degree in education from University of Texas at Austin and later received a master’s degree in mid-management from Angelo State University. His commitment to learning shaped not only his own life but also the lives of countless students. Jimmie also taught in Austin while he was in graduate school for his master’s degree.
As a math teacher, Jimmie set high standards and expected his students to rise to meet them. He touched many lives while teaching in Merkel, TX, Travis High in Austin, TX, Waco LaVega in Waco, Winters, TX, and Ballinger, TX, influencing many young people both on and off the field. His steady guidance and belief in discipline left a lasting mark wherever he taught.
Jimmie later served as a middle school principal, where he made a tremendous impact on students, faculty, and families. He was humble, quiet, and confident, a man who meant what he said. He was fair and firm, holding others accountable while holding himself to the same high standards. His leadership style earned respect, and his influence continues in the lives of those he mentored.
Visitation will be held on Friday, March 6, 2026, from 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. in the chapel at Lange Funeral Home. A memorial service honoring Jimmie will follow on Saturday, March 7, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. in the chapel at Lange Funeral Home with Max Pratt officiating.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Jimmie Stubblefield Scholarship Award, honoring his lifelong dedication to education and the success of his students or a charity of your choice.
Jimmie’s legacy is one of integrity, service, and steadfast commitment to doing things the right way. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered for the countless lives he has impacted over the years.
