Janis Lee Jobe

Janis Lee Woodard Jobe passed away on September 17, 2026, in Odessa, Texas, surrounded by the love of her family. She was born on January 27, 1950, in Lamesa, Texas, to Reverend A.J. Woodard and Betty Jo Woodard.

Janis married the love of her life, Tommy Mac Jobe, on February 24, 1973. Together, they built a family and shared a life filled with love, faith, and cherished memories. Janis was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend whose love for her family was at the heart of her life.

Janis loved Elvis and had a passion for gospel music. She sang in a gospel group out of Tupelo, Mississippi, and her faith remained an important part of her life. She attended Immanuel Baptist Church in Odessa, Texas.

Janis was preceded in death by her parents, Reverend A.J. Woodard and her stepmother, Annette Woodard; Betty Jo Woodard and her beloved husband, Tommy Mac Jobe.

She is survived by her two sons, Shaun Jobe and wife, Sarah, of Odessa, Texas, and Ward Chase Jobe and wife, Christi, of Andrews, Texas.

Janis was a proud grandmother to Heather Salomon and her husband, Isaac; Christian; Caroline; Bridgette; Tuff; Lily; Ethan; Jack Jobe; and Kashli Gilter. Her grandchildren brought her tremendous love and joy, and the memories they made with her will forever hold a special place in their hearts.

Janis is also survived by her sisters, La'Nell Craft and husband, Keith; Barbara Gastineau; Brenda Michael and husband, Gene; and Ann Powell; sisters-in-law, Lesa Jobe and Janet Gindlesperger and husband, Ron; along with numerous nieces, nephews, and dear friends who loved her dearly.

Though her family mourns her passing, they find comfort in knowing that she is now reunited with her beloved Tommy. Her love, laughter, faith, and devotion to her family will be deeply missed, but her memory will live on through the family she loved so dearly and in the hearts of everyone blessed to have known her.

A Celebration of Life will be held on October 10, 2026, at 1:00 p.m. at Lange Funeral Home in Ballinger, Texas.
