Howard Andrew "Andy" Walker

Howard Andrew “Andy” Walker, 76, of Ballinger, Texas, passed away on November 18, 2025, in San Angelo, Texas. He was born on August 6, 1949, in Shreveport, Louisiana, to Howard Everett Walker and Mary Helen Woodard.

Andy lived life with a free spirit. In his younger days, he embodied what many fondly called a “hippie”—open-hearted, light-souled, and endlessly kind. He never met a stranger and was always ready to lend a helping hand, even offering the shirt off his back to anyone in need. His love for his family ran deep, especially for his nieces and nephews, who adored his playful nature. A truck driver by trade, Andy loved the open road, adventure, and the simple joys of connection.

Family memories of Andy are full of laughter and warmth—like the times when he and Charlie took the kids to the grocery store and ended up racing shopping carts down the aisles, or the cherished tradition of giving their mother “letters to Santa,” even well into adulthood, just to share their Christmas wish lists and keep the magic alive. Andy was exceptionally intelligent, gifted with a high IQ, and a unique way of viewing the world.

A visitation will be held on Thursday, November 20, 2025, at 12:00 p.m. at Grace Fellowship Church in Ballinger, Texas. A funeral service honoring Andy will be held at 1:00 p.m. Interment will follow on Saturday, November 22, 2025, at 10:30 a.m. at Bear Creek Cemetery in Euless, Texas.

Andy is preceded in death by his loving wife, Renee Walker, and his parents, Howard and Helen Walker. He is survived by his brother, Charles Walker and wife Olivia; his sister, Nancy Gonzales and husband Michael; his stepson, Alan Christy; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins who will forever cherish his memory.
