Hope Martinez Maldonado

February 23, 1950 — April 25, 2026

Winters, Texas

With profound joy and gratitude, we announce that Hope Martinez Maldonado, affectionately known as CoCoy of Winters, Texas, stepped into the loving presence of her Lord on April 25, 2026, at 1:48 PM. Her loving daughter Rachel Juarez was by her side, and she was enveloped in the warmth of her families love.

Hope was born on February 23, 1950, in Eden, Texas to Charlie and Rufina Martinez. Hope’s life was a testament to faith and devotion. She was baptized in the Lord’s love at a tender age and dedicated to his service through her daughter and pastor, setting the foundation for a life of purpose.

Hope’s childhood was filled with hard work and adventure helping her family with farm work and later her diverse occupations showcased her strength and nurturing spirit- from domestic care to caregiving, selling delicious tamales, and cherishing her grandchildren. Her passions included nurturing her plants, spending quality time with her great-grandchildren, taking serene walks with them, caring for her beloved dogs and cooking with love.

Hope is now reunited in Heaven with her beloved Ruben Valencia, her parents, brothers Joe, Carlos, and Manuel, sisters Juana, Paulina, and Tony, and her grandson Isaac.

Her legacy lives on through her life partner Mario, her children Julio, Rachel, and Linda, grandchildren Vincent, Blanca, Valeri, Joseph, Danny, Mikey, Julio, Coyanita, and Omar, as well as thirty-five great grandchildren who were her joy.

The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to Central Texas Nursing and Rehabilitation Center for their compassionate care during Hope’s final days and to Ballinger Home Health for their kindness.

A memorial service honoring Hope will be held at Living Water Church of God on June 27, 2026, from 11:00am-3:00pm with Pastor John Kraatz officiating.
