Henry John Schniers, 94, of Miles, Texas, passed away on July 7, 2026, surrounded by his loving family.
Henry was born on April 18, 1932, in Miles to Alfonse and Amalia (Book) Schniers. He married the love of his life, Audrey Kleypas, in Rowena on September 6, 1952. They shared many happy years together until Audrey’s passing on May 25, 2009.
As a lifelong farmer, Henry was known for his strong work ethic, steadfast faith, and deep love for his family and community. He was a devoted member of St. Thomas Catholic Church in Miles, Texas, where his faith remained an important part of his life.
Henry was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Audrey Kleypas Schniers; and his parents, Alfonse and Amalia Schniers and a grandson, Kameron Tipps and granddaughter Alyssa Tipps.
He is survived by his children: Cheryl Smetana and husband, Glenn of Eola, Gaylon Schniers of Miles, Marsha McGuire and husband, Charles of Miles, and Gina Tipps of Hockley. Also surviving are grandchildren: Mandy Smetana, Dustan Smetana and wife Kari, Kendi Skelton and husband Stephen, Colin McGuire and wife Kaitlyn, Karli Herzog and husband Brent. He loved his 10 great grandchildren. He also leaves behind his extended family and many friends.
A rosary for Henry will be held on Saturday, July 11, 2026, at 9:30 a.m. at St. Thomas Catholic Church in Miles, Texas. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 10:00 a.m., with Father Ariel Lagunilla celebrating. Interment will follow at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery in Rowena, Texas.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Meals for the Elderly, San Angelo or to the charity of your choice in Henry’s memory.
The family wishes to express their heartfelt gratitude to Ballinger Home Health/Hospice for their many years of compassionate care, kindness, and support, also to the awesome staff of Central Texas Nursing and Rehabilitation.
