Henry Earl Dreyer, age 91, of Rockwall, TX, passed away on January 5th, 2026.
Henry was born on August 19,1934 in Rowena, TX to Kanna J. Dreyer and Mary Anna Pelzel.
Henry was a proud Marine Corps veteran of the Korean War and a graduate of Hardin-Simmons University in Abilene, Texas. He spent many years of his career with Liberty Mutual and East Texas Motor Freight.
Henry was known for his love of family, fishing, gardening, talking for hours on his back porch swing, treasure hunting at garage sales, construction projects, watching Texas Rangers baseball, and he found great joy in feeding anyone who walked through his door. His smoked briskets and gumbo were his specialty.
Henry is survived by his wife, Carolyn Dreyer; daughter, Brenda Briggs and husband Ron; son, Doug Dreyer and wife Melanie; daughter, Melissa Trainer and husband JC; six grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. Henry was preceded in death by his mother and father, brothers Sonny, Ruben, Olen, Louis, James and sisters Lorena, Bernice, and Catherine. He is survived by brothers Eugene and Cleo.
Visitation will be held on January 9th at 10am followed by mass at 11am at St. Joseph Catholic Church of Rowena, TX. A graveside service, with military honors, will be held immediately following mass at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery in Rowena, TX. Reception to follow.
