Harriet Margaret Halfmann Fischer, 84, of Olfen, Texas, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loved ones on Tuesday, June 3, 2025, at her home.
She was born on April 9, 1941, to Joe and Lucille Schroeder in Wichita Falls, Texas. Harriet was fortunate enough to have two great loves in her life. On June 20, 1959, she married Vincent Joseph Halfmann, the father of her children, in Windthorst, Texas. He preceded her in death in 2003. During her visit to the cemetery, she met her soon-to-be second husband, Daniel Fischer, serendipitously. They spent hours getting to know each other while visiting and laboring at their lost love’s gravesites, which happen to be side by side. She was then remarried in April of 2005 at St. Boniface Catholic Church. He also preceded her in death in 2020. Harriet will now be laid to rest between her two husbands. She worked at Electro Space in Ballinger. Harriet worked as the Aging Service Director for Runnels County, running the Meals on Wheels Program. She also enjoyed serving the community through her unending love and dedication to her church. She was a member of the Christian Mothers, Catholic Daughters, served on the Parish Council, and worked with the Concho County Emmaus. Harriet was an excellent seamstress, making all her daughter's dresses for years. She loved to cook and put a good meal on the table. Some of her famous dishes were zucchini cake, peach cobbler, and fried chicken. Her beautiful voice could be heard resonating from the choir loft at her church parish, St. Boniface in Olfen, Texas.
