Geneva Ann Edwards, 88, of Ballinger, Texas, entered into an internal rest on May 15, 2025, surrounded by her loved ones.
Born on September 12, 1936, to Edgar and Irene Pearl (Hudson), Rozzlle in Concho County. Ann was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She was preceded in death by the love of her life of 63 years, Hubert “Rat” Edwards, daughter Debra Ann, parents, and siblings Calvin Rozzlle, Jerry Rozzlle, and Joyce Harris.
Those left to cherish her memory are her brother Dalbert “Dal” Rozzlle, Miles, TX her three children: daughter Vicky Wyse and husband Patrick, Dallas, TX, Penny Williams and husband John, Pearland TX, son Dale Edwards, Ballinger TX as well as 3 grandchildren Stephen Wyse, Christopher Wyse, Samantha Williams Fancher, great granddaughter; Sophia Wyse, care giver Pat Hollis and many dear friends.
Ann and Rat moved to Houston, Texas, after their wedding in San Angelo on December 12, 1955, and had four children. They moved to Angleton, Texas, to start up a new business, Edwards Overhead Door Company. Ann not only worked in the office, but she was a wonderful cook. She won a Betty Crocker Cook Award in High School. She was also an occasional seamstress, an Assistant Softball Coach alongside her husband and daughters. She was a meticulous housekeeper, known for locking her children out of the house to clean. She was very strict when it came to manners and a stickler for appearance. She made sure her makeup, hair, and nails were done before walking out the door. She also made sure her family was at church Sunday morning, Sunday evening, and Wednesday evening. At one time, she was a kindergarten teacher at the church.
When the mid-80s came around, Ann and Rat decided to move back to Concho County, but this time to run a farm and ranch. Raising cattle, sheep, goats’ maze, and cotton. In Ann’s free time, she was on a bowling league, and occasionally she and Rat went out with friends to the Owls Roast, OH Lake Ivie for dancing. She was a good friend to many; she was a good listener with a sense of wit and humor.
A visitation will be held on Saturday, May 31st, at 10 am at the chapel at Lange Funeral Home in Ballinger, Texas. Her funeral service will follow at 11:00 am also at Lange Funeral Home.
