Gary Lynn Morgan was born June 24, 1958, in Brownwood, Texas, to Peggy and LD Hillhouse. He was sent to join the angels in Heaven on September 8, 2023, at 1:32 a.m. Gary was one of four children.
Gary was a hard-working truck driver who loved the open road. He loved his family and friends and always gave everyone a hard time, no matter the situation. He had no boundaries and could make you love, laugh, and hate him all at the same time. He was very blunt and feelings didn’t matter to him but he did it all in love.
Due to difficult circumstances, he was unable to work but he did what he could for his family, fix cars, mow our lawns, and babysit his grandchildren. He had a rough start in life but his wife, bonus children, and grandchildren gave him a life he never thought he could have. We nicknamed him Pops and that’s what everyone called him. We knew it made him happy. Pops loved God and he is up there in Heaven waiting with the man he shared his family with. He will be deeply missed and we know he is looking down on us. We love him.
Gary is preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Bobby Morgan.
He is survived by his hard-to-deal-with wife but loved her so much, Rose Morgan; his beautiful children, Lydia Collins, Kenny Clanton, and Emily Clanton; and his sons-in-law Jason Thurmond and Brandon Garvin. He was also blessed with 13 grandchildren, James, Alicia, Piper, Dakota, Shyla, Bella, Karma, Peyton, Kenneth, Bubba (William), Harley, Cynthia, and Olivia. He also leaves behind sisters, cousins, nieces, and nephews. Pops will be waiting at the Pearly Gates of Heaven for everyone to one day join him.
A private memorial service will be held at a later date.
