Dennis Wayne Shipman

December 28, 1943 — October 2, 2025

Paint Rock, Texas

With deep love and heavy hearts, we celebrate the life of Dennis Wayne Shipman, who passed away peacefully on October 2, 2025, at the age of 81.

Born on December 28, 1943, Dennis lived a full and genuine life-a life defined by love for his family, a deep respect for nature, and a strong will that never wavered. He was a man of quiet strength, the kind of person who didn't sugarcoat things and always said what was on his mind. Stubborn at times and hard-headed in the best way, Dennis was fiercely loyal and stood firm in what he believed. He served in the US Navy in the Vietnam war.

He is survived by the love of his life, his devoted wife Judy Lee Shipman, who stood faithfully by his side through every season. Their love was steady and true, a bond built on trust, grit, and unconditional love. He was a proud father to Ryan Crow, and Lauren Mainka and her husband Justin Mainka. He is immensely proud of his grandchildren-Paityn Brown-Mainka and Raylon Mainka, who lovingly called him Grumps and was their best buddy. He also took great pride in his oldest grandson Ryan Shipman and his wife Yuko Shipman-and lit up around his great-grandchildren Hana and Liam Shipman. Dennis is also survived by his son Jay Shipman and granddaughter Ashley Shipman. All of his grandchildren and great grandchildren are the pieces of him that will continue his legacy.

Dennis had a lifelong love for the outdoors. A passionate bass fisherman, he found peace on the water, where early mornings and quiet moments with a fishing pole in hand were some of his happiest times. He also had a tender heart for animals of all kinds. Whether it was a loyal dog by his side or a stray that wandered into his yard, Dennis had a soft spot for every creature that crossed his path.

He was the kind of man you could count on-direct, honest, and dependable. He didn't mince words, but behind that straightforward exterior was a man with a big heart, deep love for his family, and a genuine spirit that touched everyone around him.

The family will honor Dennis at a private celebration of life which will be held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Millersview Baptist Church in Millersview, Texas in Dennis’ honor.

Though his earthly journey has ended, Dennis's love, strength, and personality will live on in the hearts of his family and friends. His legacy is one of honesty, loyalty, and love-and he will be deeply missed by all who were blessed to know him.
