Cathy Ann Dean

Cathy Ann Schwartz Dean, 68, passed away peacefully on Saturday, April 4, 2026, after a courageous battle with cancer. She was born on April 21, 1957, in Winters, Texas, to Raymond Schwartz and Virginia Spraberry Schwartz.

Cathy graduated from Winters High School in 1975. She went on to earn her LVN from Cisco Junior College in 1980 and dedicated 40 years of her life to serving others as a nurse. In 1990, she married David Keith Dean.

She was preceded in death by her husband and her parents.

Cathy is survived by her brothers, Richard (Kay) Schwartz, Wayne Schwartz, and Gary (Belinda) Schwartz, all of Winters. She is also lovingly remembered by her nieces and nephews, who were her pride and joy and whom she delighted in spoiling: Angie Schwartz of Delaware, Ohio; Maegan Schwartz of Winters; Clint Schwartz of Irving; Zachary (Naomi) Schwartz of Winters; and Ambar (Richard) Smith of Winters. She is further survived by great nieces and nephews Colin Schwartz, Avery Ridder, Brady Ridder, Betty Smith, and Elijah Smith and great-great niece and nephew Lainey and Cooper, with a couple more additions on the way.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in her memory to the Z. I. Hale Museum in Winters or to a charity of your choice. A memorial service will be held at a later date.
