Bobbie Lanelle Howard Elliott

March 11, 1944 - November 22, 2024

Bobbie Lanelle Howard Elliott went to be with the Lord on Friday, November 22 at the age of 80. Bobbie was born on March 11,1944 in Roscoe, Texas, the eldest of three daughters, to Leo Burl Howard and Florence Juanita Boyd Howard. She grew up with a strong sense of church and family, with a passion for music. She was involved in many activities in school, top of her graduating class and enjoyed playing basketball for 4 years under her dad who was the Head Basketball Coach.

She graduated from Baird High School in May 1962 and soon embarked on a life of love and devotion. On July 27, 1962, she married Bernice Duane Elliott and together they spent over 62 wonderful years building a lasting legacy.

Bernice's job with Safeway would take them from Abilene to Ballinger to Brownwood and finally back to Ballinger where Bernice would become a salesman for Mueller's Inc. Bobbie was a doting mother of three busy sons, Ronnie, David and Gary. Bobbie and Bernice were very involved with the Baseball Little League Association coaching and running the concession stand, and enjoyed nothing more than watching their sons participate in all different sports and activities. During this time, they also found their lifelong church family at Seventh Street Baptist Church where Bobbie was a Sunday school teacher and organist. She also took a position as a teacher's aide at Ballinger Elementary where she truly enjoyed helping children and forging new friendships over a 12-year span until they purchased the local Sears Catalog store which allowed her to find a new purpose while running their own business for a few years.

All the while, she was a God-loving, dedicated wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother with special talents all her own including cooking, baking, making beautiful and delicious family birthday and wedding cakes, sewing, quilting, painting, crafting, scrapbooking, playing the organ and piano, cheering on her children and grandchildren at their sporting events and calling all of her friends and family on a very regular basis. She lived a full, rich life in all the things that matter most and although her body often failed her, she never ran out of love to give to those around her.

Bobbie is preceded in death by her mother and father, many dear friends and family members.

Bobbie is survived by her incredibly loving and devoted husband, Bernice of Ballinger; her son, Ronnie Elliott, and his children Chad (wife Brittney), Cody (wife Brittany), Kimberly (husband John), and Abigail, nine great-grandchildren Jack, Jude, Ruby, Reece, Reagan, Lizzie, Linley, Addi and Levi; her son, David Elliott and his wife Tammy, their children Chris (wife Tana) and Ashley, three more great-grandchildren Cambryn, Dax and Adley; and her son, Gary Elliott, and his wife Cathy, and their children Jason and Ryan. Bobbie is also survived by her fiercely loyal sisters Sue Reeves and Joyce Lovell along with many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins and treasured, extended family.

The family would like to express our deepest gratitude for the special souls at Ballinger Memorial Hospital who looked after and cared for Bobbie as they would their own mother or grandmother.
