Billy Ray Eudy

August 14, 1930 — April 3, 2021

Billy Ray Eudy, 90, of Veribest, passed away peacefully at his home on Saturday, April 3, 2021.

He was born on August 14, 1930, to Houston “Doc” LaFayette and Opal (White) Eudy in Carnegie, Oklahoma.  When he was a boy his family moved to Texas and purchased land in Tom Green County, east of San Angelo.  He lived there his whole life and farmed the land for more than forty years.  On February 11, 1961, he married Peggy McCleskey in San Angelo at the Lakeview Methodist Church.  After retiring from farming, he kept himself busy by painting houses for many years, and even later, he enjoyed mowing yards.  Billy loved playing all of the old gospel hymns on his harmonica, guitar, or even the banjo at the Veribest Methodist Church at Jammin’ for Jesus.  He was the oldest and longest attending member of the Veribest Methodist Church.

Billy is preceded in death by his parents HL “Doc” Eudy and Opal Eudy Dorgan.

He is survived by his wife, Peggy; his two daughters Renonia West and husband Mike of Miles and Janna Rouse and husband Jamie also of Miles.  Billy is also survived by his four grandchildren Ryan West, Sarah West, James Rouse and Nicole Rouse and his cousin Patsy Yavitz of Florida.

A visitation for Billy will be held on Thursday, April 8, 2021, from 6:00 to 7:30 pm at Lange Funeral Home in Ballinger.  His graveside service will be held the following day, Friday, April 9, 2021, at 2:00 pm at Miles Cemetery with Pastor Michael Thomson officiating.
