Benny Howell

Benny Bruce Howell, 78, of Ballinger, Texas, passed away peacefully on May 5, 2025, at Ballinger Memorial Hospital.

Born on August 25, 1946, in Ballinger to Bruce and Faye (Eubanks) Howell, Benny lived a life deeply rooted in faith, family, and service. A devoted husband, cherished friend, and beloved uncle, he touched countless lives through his generosity, humor, and unwavering kindness.

Benny dedicated his professional life to working as an electrician, most notably with Mueller’s and Dankworth Packing, where he was admired for his skill and dependability. Beyond his work, he gave wholeheartedly to his community. He served proudly with the Ballinger Volunteer Fire Department and was an active member of the Ballinger Noon Lions Club. A man of strong faith, Benny was a committed member of Glory Road Cowboy Church.

Known for his love of BBQ, his unmistakable sense of humor, and an endearing fondness for armadillos, Benny brought joy wherever he went. His quiet strength, ability to truly listen, and his reputation as “a great big brother” left a lasting impression on everyone fortunate enough to know him.

He was preceded in death by Annette Hart and his brother, Eddie Howell.

Left to honor his memory are his loving wife, Nick Dora Howell; his daughter, Barbara, and her husband, Mark; his son, Chad Hart; sister-in-law, Helen Depew, and her husband, Mark; brother-in-law, Elmer Buckelew, and his wife, Evelyn; along with numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews who held him close to their hearts.

A visitation will be held Thursday, May 8, 2025, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Lange Funeral Home. Funeral services will be conducted on Friday, May 9, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. at Glory Road Cowboy Church, with interment to follow at The Evergreen Cemetery in Ballinger, Texas.

Benny’s legacy of love, faith, and service will continue to inspire all who knew him.
