Amalia was born on April 30, 1946, in El Oregano, Coahuila, Mexico to Simon and Maria Lara.  At 14, she accepted the Lord Jesus Christ and put all her trust and faith in Him.  She met and married, Gilberto G. Cervantes, the love of her life, on January 28, 1967.  After living in Winters and then Eden for a short time, the couple moved to Paint Rock in June 1975 and settled there.

Amalia was known for greeting everyone with a smile, whether you were family, friends, or a stranger who became a friend, and when visiting her you were sure to be loved on and fed with a meal that was always made with lots of love.  And when you asked her for advice you left with more knowledge than when you arrived.  Amalia always loved to be with her loved ones, fellowshipping, making memories, and just loving on everyone.  She also loved to be with her plants, especially the outside ones, as much as possible.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to Angels Care Home Health, especially her home health nurse, Kim Ebeling, and her physical therapist, Renee Ward., also, to the staff of Shannon 6 North, and Shannon Dialysis, who referred to her as “momma”.  A huge thank you to Dr. Cesar Rodriguez-Franco and his staff and Dr. Amin Parhizgar and his staff at the Fresenius Kidney Care Red Arroyo.
