Van Lyndon Bednar

Van Lyndon Bednar, 62, of Eden passed away Wednesday, June 1, 2011 at Concho County Hospital in Eden.

Van was born December 23, 1948 in San Angelo to Ed C. and Margaret (Williams) Bednar. He married Betty Tinkler, and the couple lived in several places before settling in Eden. He was a hardy, hard-working man, working long hours as a truck driver and in the oil field.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Carlene, and a granddaughter, Cheyenne Bednar.

Van is survived by his wife, Betty, of the home; five children, Vanzant Bednar and wife, Bridgett, of Vancourt; Vince Bednar of Fort Worth; Vanessa Bednar of Granbury; Tracie Halter and husband, David, of Denver; and Sherrie James, and husband, Dwaine, of Canyon Lake. A sister, Lavelle Bednar Oxley of Levelland; 11 grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren also survive.

A graveside service will be held at 9:00 am on Friday, June 3 at Live Oak Cemetery near Eden.
